Surya Prakash
Born in Madhira, Andhra Pradesh. He studied painting in Hyderabad and worked under Ram Kumar at New Delhi. He has held several one man shows, and has participated in the Paris Biennale 1971, Five Indian Artists 1981 at Manheiern, Germany, Modem Indian Art at Kunstalle, Germany in 1982, Modern Indian Painting at Hirshorn Museum, Washington in 1982, Indian Contemporary Art Exhibition at the Art Museum, Ginza, Tokyo in 1995 and the "New South" Exhibition in London. Commissioner for the 11 th Indian International Triennale-New Delhi-2005 He has traveled extensively, has had a documentary film made on his life and work, and has even published a Book 'A journey beyond colours". He has been awarded the Title "Kala Vibhushan" by the All lndia Fine Arts Society, New Delhi.
